Packing for Paultons Park
When packing for weekends away with young children it can seem like you’re packing for every eventuality, and when you’re on a staycation within the UK, it can be even harder to know what to pack. To try and relieve some of the strain, we’ve created this guide to packing for a fun weekend away at Paultons Park and Peppa Pig World.
Family fun — whatever the weather
🎡Paultons Park is an outdoor attraction, so expect to spend the majority of the day outside. Try to pack clothing suitable for a range of weather; layers are always a good idea. Even on a cold day, children will soon warm up running about and playing. Remember to bring hats, sunglasses and sun cream during the warmer months, and rain jackets, umbrellas and wellies all year round!
☀️ If it’s warm and sunny you’ll probably want to bring swimming costumes and towels so that the children can enjoy our outdoor splash parks, Water Kingdom and Muddy Puddles. Your little ones will enjoy running in and out of water jets, and generally having a lot of splashing fun. But don't worry, there are plenty of seats, so grown-ups can watch from a safe distance! Even if the weather isn’t great, chances are the kids will still want to splash about, and there are some wet rides, so a change of clothes might be a sensible plan.
🍦Whether you’re looking for a substantial lunch or simply an ice cream, there’s a great choice of eating places with both inside and outside seating areas. Alternatively, you are quite welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy in the park.
During your journey
To avoid the “Are we nearly there yet” cries from the back seat, don’t forget to pack some toys to entertain the little ones in the car. Colouring books and crayons, magnetic travel games and puzzle books are perennial favourites. You could always play the classic car journey game of I Spy or download some of our free Peppa Pig games. Depending on the length of your journey, you may want to pack some snacks for the children.
For the hotel
We have a lovely range of family-friendly hotels to choose from for your Paultons break. Some may well provide toiletries, but these are probably best suited for the grown-ups. Bringing your children’s regular bubble bath and shampoo will help keep up the bath time routine. Perhaps bring a bath toy or two to turn your hotel room into a home away from home. The children’s own pillows can be a great comfort when sleeping in a strange bed and don’t forget their favourite soft toy or comfort blanket.
Packing tips
When you’re taking the whole family away for the weekend, it can seem like you’re packing everything and the kitchen sink. Rolling up clothing can help you to fit more in the suitcase, and can actually help to keep creases to a minimum. You could consider buying some plastic, resealable bags that can help you to keep items separate, for example, one bag with underwear, another bag with T-shirts, and so on. These can be really helpful when living out of suitcases, plus they give you a handy place to pack wet cossies and flannels for your homeward journey.
Things to remember for Paultons Park
- If you have little ones whose legs are bound to get weary halfway through the day, we do have strollers available to hire. These must be pre-booked on our website prior to visiting and cannot be booked at the park. Prices are per day and are £10 for a single stroller or £15 for a double stroller.
- Paultons Park is a cashless attraction so please ensure you bring a credit or debit card with you. The park does not accept American Express. If you do bring cash, you can get this loaded onto a gift card to use around the park at Guest Information.
- In Peppa Pig World, we have an indoor play centre, George’s Spaceship Playzone. Outdoor shoes aren’t allowed, so children (and grown-ups) need to wear socks to enjoy playing in this area. If it’s summer and you’re planning on wearing sandals, remember to pop some socks in your bag.
- If you’re bringing spare clothes, towels and all the various bits and pieces that come hand in hand with family breaks, you’ll be glad to learn that we have lockers in the park that you can use for a small charge (bring some change). Alternatively, you can leave everything in the car and access it during the day by obtaining a hand stamp on the exit gate.
Paultons Breaks packages are now available and include your Paultons Park and Peppa Pig World tickets and an overnight stay at a local hotel with breakfast.
