Marwell Zoo, just outside of Winchester, spans across 140 acres of beautiful parkland, providing a sanctuary for over 1,200 animals of 135 different species, making it a perfect day out for animal lovers of all ages.

There’s so much to see at Marwell Zoo, the kids will be entertained for hours. Animals to see include penguins, tigers, lemurs, snow leopards and zebra.

One of the most popular attractions in the New Forest is the National Motor Museum. Located in the village of Beaulieu, it’s home to over 250 vehicles including famous cars like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and is a must-do for F1 fans. Another must-see is the New Forest Museum, which is packed with displays and activities about the New Forest National Park. With three routes that cover the whole of the New Forest National Park, seeing the sights on the open-top New Forest Tour is a great way to enjoy grandstand views of this beautiful landscape. The New Forest is home to lots of different types of animals, including deer and buzzards as well as the famous New Forest ponies. No visit to Paultons Park would be complete without a visit to Longdown Activity Farm, one of our favourite local attractions, which is just a short distance from the Park and is a great activity for the whole family. If you’re interested in the wildlife of the New Forest, a trip to the New Forest Wildlife Park, which is home to otters, wolves, owls and more, is a must.

Seeing the New Forest on horseback is an exciting and exhilarating experience and provides a unique insight into this beautiful landscape. The New Forest is made up of over 190,000 acres of heathland and ancient woodland, and with over 143 miles of track there’s lots to explore on foot. You’ll experience a huge variety of wildlife as you twist and turn through the woodlands and there’s also a whole host of guided walks which are a great way to pick up information from local experts. If you prefer two wheels to two legs, there’s also over 100 miles of off-road cycle routes, some of which are well suited for cycling novices and children. A number of cycle hire shops are dotted around the New Forest or you can bring your own.
